We’re bringing together Haldi and Mehendi into one celebration. Haldi is a pre-wedding ritual where close family and friends apply turmeric as a blessing for protection and good fortune. Mehendi follows, with intricate henna designs on hands and feet, music in the background, and everyone settling into the weekend.
Rooted in Indian tradition and shaped by our life together, this event is where two families, two histories, and two cultures meet in one place.

We invite you to join us for our wedding day in Lake Como, where we will honor both of our heritages through a fusion of traditions at a historic lakeside villa.
Hindu Ceremony
The day begins with the Baraat procession, as the groom arrives surrounded by music, dancing, and celebration, leading into our traditional Hindu ceremony beneath a lakeside mandap. There, we will take part in sacred rituals and blessings alongside our families.
Christian Ceremony
After time to relax and enjoy the villa and its lake views, we will gather again at sunset for our Christian ceremony, an exchange of vows in an elegant outdoor setting overlooking the water.
Reception
The evening continues with cocktails on the terrace, followed by a seated dinner, toasts, and dancing as we celebrate bringing together two traditions, and becoming one family.
Morning: Baraat Arrival & Hindu Wedding Ceremony
Afternoon: Lunch, relaxation and light refreshments.
Evening: Christian Wedding Ceremony at sunset, followed by Cocktails, Dinner Reception, and Dancing into the night.
DRESS CODE
To reflect the two ceremonies, guests are invited to dress accordingly (Outfit changes for morning and evening):
Morning: Baraat & Hindu Ceremony
Traditional Indian attire in vibrant hues is encouraged.
Ladies may opt for lehengas, sarees, anarkalis, or shararas with statement jewelry.
Gentlemen may wear sherwanis, kurtas with churidar, or bandhgala suits.
Evening: Christian Ceremony & Reception Black-tie formal. Ladies may choose floor-length gowns, or refined cocktail dresses. Gentlemen are invited to wear tuxedos with bowties.
Wedding Colors: We kindly ask guests to avoid whites and creams for the Christian Ceremony, which is reserved for the couple. Feel free to wear any color of your choice for the Hindu Ceremony.
Comfortable footwear is recommended, as the celebration will move through the villa’s gardens and indoors.

Morning: Baraat & Hindu Ceremony

The primary international airport is about 35 minutes - 1 hour from Cernobbio, Lake Como.
Private Transfer: The most comfortable option – we can recommend reliable services for door-to-door transport (pre-booking advised).
Train: From Malpensa or Linate, take a shuttle/train to Milano Centrale, then a direct train to Como San Giovanni or Varenna-Esino. From Bergamo, bus to Bergamo station then train.
Ferry: Once in Como or central towns like Bellagio/Varenna, public ferries are a scenic way to travel around the lake.

Italy is part of the Schengen Area. Citizens of many countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and EU nations may enter visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism.
We kindly recommend that all guests review the entry requirements specific to their nationality through the official Italian visa website or their local Italian consulate.
Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
September in Lake Como is typically mild and pleasant, with average daytime highs of 20-24°C (68-75°F) and lows around 12-15°C (54-59°F).
Expect mostly sunny days with possible light showers – perfect for outdoor events!
Evenings can be cooler by the lake, so layers are advised.

A limited number of room blocks are available for guests to reserve in advance. Details and booking information is on the "Hotels" tab.
Shuttles and boat transfers will be arranged for key movements between venues and hotel. Full details will be emailed in advance. Public ferries are also a beautiful (and fun!) option for getting around.
Our menus will feature a delicious fusion of multicultural cuisine, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other options available.

Primary Wedding Hotel
Our primary guest hotel, Sheraton Lake Como is located just 4 minutes from Villa Erba, with wedding transportation provided. This full-service stay offers a more elevated resort experience with breakfast included, on-site dining, a spa, fitness studio, indoor and outdoor pools, and beautiful garden-style grounds. The Sheraton will also host our Sangeet celebration, making it the most seamless option for the wedding weekend.
Scenic Lake-View Stay
Set above Cernobbio with sweeping Lake Como views, Hotel Asnigo is a charming boutique-style option with breakfast included and transportation provided for wedding events. It is walking distance from the Rehearsal Dinner venue and will also host our Haldi & Mehendi celebration. Please note the hotel sits slightly uphill, but guests are rewarded with beautiful lake views, a panoramic terrace, and a more intimate Como atmosphere.

A more relaxed and value-conscious option in Cernobbio, Hotel San Giuseppe offers a charming boutique feel with an on-site restaurant and a warm, family-run atmosphere. This is a great choice for guests who prefer something simple, comfortable, and close to the heart of town while still being near the wedding weekend activities. The hotel’s own site describes it as family-run for over half a century, located about five minutes from Cernobbio’s historic center and the lake, with a restaurant focused on Italian and Lake Como cuisine.
